Elvis Milk Shakes

While I have never been a huge Elvis music fan, I can definitely relate to his love of the peanut butter-banana combo. And after spending the day with my accountant...I needed, YES NEEDED one of these very rich and yummy shakes. All the sinful delicious-ness took away all my disdain for accounting...well almost.
Anyway, my husband and the kids agreed this was one of the best shakes they have ever had.
Most likely you already have all the ingredients in your kitchen.
You must try it. Must.

In a bowl, beat peanut butter and 1/4 cup of milk with a hand mixer until smooth.

In a blender, blend ice cream, remaining milk and banana until smooth. Add peanut butter mixture and blend until just combined.

Pour into glasses and garnish with some bananas.

This sounds like the perfect thing to have after a day spent with your accountants, or a day spent teaching school, or a day spent doing just about anything!

One of my favorite combos of flavors! Love the idea of whipping some of the pb and milk first.
My son calls this nanny drinks and I make them for him for breakfast often by using yogurt instead of ice cream. I use frozen bananas. Maybe we'll make them this morning!

That is seriously my all-time favorite milkshake (minus the bananas! Add a squirt or two of chocolate and caramel...YUM!) I've learned how to make it with a little milk and sugar and lots of ice...and it still tastes great! (Had one the other night...)

I do similar smoothies for myself for breakfast quite often. PB and banana is the snack of the gods.
But if this is about Elvis, shouldn't there be bacon in it too?

I do this minus the ice cream and switching the regular milk for chocolate milk at least once a week. It's powerfully good stuff, and without the ice cream I don't even remotely feel guilty chugging it down.

Hi Cathy!!! I hope your family has a great holiday weekend! Love the shakes, and I like that you beat the peanut butter with milk before hand, I bet that makes it nice and creamy!

What a great drink for my teens when they get out of practice and are hungry. As long as it doesn't make their hips gyrate, that is.

My God this looks delicious! No peanut butter in Italy. Would Nutella do the trick?

I remember watching Elvis movies on the weekends. I think Clam Bake was one of my favorites. These milkshakes look so fun and delicious. My kids would die for these!

Thank you for this - I am on Day 1 of a 2 day liquid diet and I think this hearty concoction has saved me from gnawing on my fist!
Also, Louise in Italy - no peanut butter? The horrors!

Ahhh, if only I could eat ice cream! Those look so good!

I love these! The peanut butter and banana combination is so good. I make them with frozen bananas. No need for ice cream and use non fat yogurt.

Yumm! Can I put kahlua in mine?

I need to try this - I love every ingredient in it tho have never put the together. Well, except kinda like the sandwich my dad made me growing up: two slices bread one smeared with mayo, the other with peanut butter. Then lettuce and length-wise sliced bananas.
MAJOR yum!

I made this last night after my fiancé got off work and I drizzled some chocolate syrup in while it was in the blender, just enough for a hint of chocolate. I'm going to make it again for him tonight, it's so smooth and yummy!

This recipe was a godsend! I'm stranded at home unable to eat solid food after a mouth operation, and to be honest I was getting pretty fed up with soup. Stumbled across this recipe, had all of the ingredients! This is absolutely delicious, thank you.
